    JOIN US!

    COMMUNITY-LED VOLUNTEER GROUP!

    Who are we?

Maybe you have seen us in the orange vests picking up garbage along the community roads, or maybe you have heard us speaking at meetings with county officials about the growing trash problems, abandoned vehicles, crime, or need for services in our remote area. You might have met us at our local Summerfest Events as well.

The Neighborhood Watch Dogs Group was formed in August 2020 by concerned community members who wanted to build a strong community and address the issues of safety and cleanliness in our area. Our focus is on working with one another and outside agencies to build a healthy environment for everyone!

We gather throughout the year to help clean our roads, removing thousands of pounds of garbage from along our streets. To join our meetings and if you want to learn more, please visit our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/718686472042194/

The Columbia Valley Water District is located in Eastern Whatcom County nestled in the foothills of the Columbia Valley. In 2010, the District’s name was changed from Evergreen Water Sewer District 19 to better represent the area that it serves.

In 1971, the water system was constructed to serve the residential and recreational lots of the Paradise Lakes Country Club.  In early 2000, Paradise Lakes Country Club disbanded and Evergreen Water Sewer District #19 was formed as a municipal water system.  Since its inception in 2003, the District has been providing safe clean drinking water to 1590 customers.

    Tuesday, August 6, 2024–4-8pm

This year Whatcom County Sheriff deputies are joining Kendall Summerfest on Tuesday, August 6th 2024, from 4-8pm for National Officer’s Night Out. We will have all the fun and festivities of previous summers but our local officers will be sharing the cooking duties with Kendall Fire Station volunteers.

Kendall Summerfest is a major community event designed to bring neighbors together for a safe, healthy and fun day of activities for all ages and abilities. We provide free meals and beverages for attendees, offer a wide variety of children’s and adult activities including a bounce house and ax throwing gallery, as well as other games for family fun! Talented people vend a wide variety of unique crafts and goods, many of which are handmade with love, and resource providers are available to share information that assists people with vital needs.

While this is a local event, we attract attendees from our neighboring rural communities which helps build and strengthen inter-community ties, as well as from across the county and beyond.
